Create Database

9Tiger provides dedicated PostgreSQL server. Creating and using a PostgreSQL database only takes a few minutes.

Unlike other service providers - 9Tiger databases are not shared. 9Tiger provides dedicated database only. This keeps the data safe and the database gets the full share of its CPU and memory.


Simple Database Setup Guide

Select your project

  1. In 9Tiger all resources are grouped under a project. Select the project in which you want to create your database cluster. Select Project (Fig 1: Select Project)

  2. This will take you to the Simple Database Service page.

  3. It is currently empty, as no database has been created. Click on the Create PostgreSQL Database link. Create Database Button (Fig 3: Create Database Button)

Complete the Create Simple Database Form

  1. In the Create Simple Database Service Form enter the values for the following fields:

Complete all required fields:

FieldDescription
Service NameThe service name is system generated.
RegionRegion in which the database cluster will be created. This is same as that of the project.
Database EngineSelect a supported database engine. Currently, only PostgreSQL is supported.
PlanThe Database plan you want to use.

Currently plan change is not supported. It will be available soon.

Submit the Form

  1. Click on Submit

View Database Clusters

  1. Click on the Back button to view the database clusters page.

This shows the list of database services with status.

The initial status of the Simple Database Service is new. It takes few minutes for the service to be ready and accept connections. At this stage the service status is 'active'. There are other intermediate statuses like provisioning and provisioned.

View Simple Database Service Detail

After couple of minutes, the database is fully provisioned and status will change to active.

  1. Database fully provisioned.
